Homeopathy

clinic.jpgHomeopathy is an individualised holistic approach to health which looks at finding the root cause of ill health. The body exhibits symptoms, whether physical, mental or emotional, when there is a core problem that needs to be dealt with. Symptoms are produced for a reason and that reason needs to be addressed.

In order to work towards finding the root cause of ill health, an initial homeopathic consultation may take up to an hour and a half, covering not only the symptoms of the presenting ailment but also looking at all aspects of a person's life. This in-depth case taking process covers general health, past medical history, diet, lifestyle, personality as well as family medical history. This approach takes into account the individual aspects of the person, producing a unique picture which is then matched as closely as possible to the most similar symptom picture of one of several thousand homeopathic remedies.  The remedy is allowed time to act and around 4-6 weeks after the first prescription, changes are assessed during a generally shorter follow up consultation.

Homeopathy uses animal, plant, mineral and synthetic materials to make remedies using a process of repeated dilution and shaking which renders the remedy capable of stimulating the body's own defence system. Each remedy has its own unique symptom picture covering physical and mental emotional symptoms.

The practice of Homeopathy is over 200 years old and is continually evolving to address the ailments of today's world. Homeopathy can therefore help in a wide range of issues such as migraines, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, autoimmune disorders, CFS, fibromyalgia, behavioural issues such as those associated with ASD. Homeopathy is suitable for everyone including babies, pregnant women, and the elderly.

Homeopathy works well in conjunction with biodynamic craniosacral therapy (BCST) and can be used alongside conventional medications and supplements.
